Children's Mandarin Class

Image
Since 2010, we have been helping children with or without previous experience learn Mandarin and cultivate their interest in Mandarin. Our highly qualified Mandarin teachers are all bilingual and have experience teaching students from diverse backgrounds. We understand it is challenging to learn a new language. We make learning fun and engaging for our students.

Our Mandarin programs are especially suitable for students who have little or no Chinese language experience. We adopt an inquiry-based, active and communicative approach to help students learn Mandarin. The emphasis is on listening and speaking and cultivating interest for Chinese language and culture.

Benefits of Children Learning Chinese
Enhanced cognitive abilities
Learning Chinese requires children to engage with a complex writing system and tonal language. This can improve their cognitive skills, including memory, problem-solving, and analytical thinking.

Improved linguistic abilities:

Learning Chinese can expand children's linguistic abilities, as they become familiar with a different language structure and vocabulary. This can help them develop stronger language skills overall, including in their native language.

Cultural understanding and global awareness:
Chinese language learning provides children with insights into Chinese culture, traditions, and history. It fosters a greater understanding and appreciation of diversity, promoting global awareness and intercultural competence.

Broader communication skills
Learning Chinese allows children to communicate with over a billion Mandarin speakers worldwide. This expands their ability to connect with a diverse range of people and can facilitate cultural exchange, travel, and international friendships.

Improved problem-solving and creativity
Chinese characters are visually complex and require creative thinking to learn and understand. This can foster problem-solving skills, creativity, and adaptability in children.

Boosted academic performance:
Research suggests that learning a second language, such as Chinese, can positively impact academic performance across various subjects. It improves memory, concentration, and critical thinking abilities, which can lead to better overall academic achievement.

Personal growth and confidence:
Successfully learning a challenging language like Chinese can significantly boost children's self-esteem, confidence, and sense of accomplishment. It teaches them perseverance, patience, and the ability to overcome obstacles.
